On Monday, April 5, 2021, the statue of Captain John O’Donnell was removed from O’Donnell Square Park. On Wednesday, April 7, The Baltimore Sun printed this OpEd from CCA President Mark Edelson, written on behalf of the Canton Anti-Racism Alliance.

The I Wonder Garden is one of Canton’s best-kept secrets. The 7,000 sq. ft. garden, which features native plants and community plots, is currently undergoing a bit of a renaissance. With renewed interest from local volunteers, the support of the CCA, and help from Councilman Zeke Cohen, an MOU is now in place with the city of Baltimore to keep the garden safe and accessible to our community.

The CCA welcomes new Business Member Digitiv. Founded by Rob Winters and Brittany Brown, the company launched in Baltimore during the summer of 2020.

The Canton Anti-Racism Alliance, in partnership with Showing Up for Racial Justice (SURJ) Baltimore and Councilmember Zeke Cohen, is pleased to host a virtual evening of conversation with Dr. Lawrence T. Brown and Councilmember Zeke Cohen on Tuesday, April 6 from 6:30-8:00pm.

Visit the Canton Community Association at O’Donnell Square Park on Saturday, April 24 from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm. Meet some of the CCA Board Members and volunteers. Ask us questions, sign up to be a member, and if you feel like it, pull a few weeds or rake some mulch. Come #GetNeighborly!

Canton Canopy, the volunteer group working with the CCA to increase the trees in Canton, returns for the season on Saturday, April 24. Join them from 9:00 a.m. to noon to help plant new trees! They’ll have tools, gloves, coffee and donuts… all they need is you!
