One way to support our neighbors of color is to shop and dine at Black-owned businesses.

The CCA is like an iceberg. Our members appreciate the positive results they see in our community, but they rarely get a glimpse of the hard work, dedication, and intense level of volunteerism behind the scenes. This issue features a letter from our outgoing President who shares his experience as well as a list of 2021 accomplishments and 2022 goals from our board members and committee chairs to show you what’s “under the water”.

The 2nd Annual Canton Day of Giving 2021 was a huge success! We had so much fun hanging out with the Exchange Club of Highlandtown/Canton, our neighbors, and guests as we listened to the ORCHKids while collecting toys, food, and coats for those in need.

Creative Alliance is a multi-faceted arts organization that hosts performances, exhibitions, artists in residence, festivals, education programs, and more! When people think of the Creative Alliance, they often think of Highlandtown and Patterson Park, but we want our members to know that this valuable resource is very much a part of Canton, too. This month we’re chatting with CA Marketing and Communications Director Heather Keating to share how our community can engage, support, and enjoy this amazing Arts-driven non-profit.

The CCA is pleased to join the Exchange Club of Highlandtown-Canton to partner for a Day of Giving in Canton. Stop by O’Donnell Square Park on Saturday, December 11 from 10 am-2 pm to donate new, unwrapped toys and nonperishable food items to help us “Fill the Square”.

The CCA is excited to announce that a new composting program is coming to Canton! The PPNA Community Compost Initiative has graciously shared its grant with the CCA to set up a free food scrap drop-off site in Canton at the i Wonder Garden at Hudson and Baylis Streets.
