Composting is Coming!

The CCA is excited to announce that a new composting program is coming to Canton! The PPNA Community Compost Initiative has graciously shared its grant with the CCA to set up a free food scrap drop-off site in Canton at the i Wonder Garden at Hudson and Baylis Streets.

The project, started by Allison Blood of the Patterson Park Neighborhood Association, is already successful in Patterson Park so we believe the expansion will be a big success. Neighbors can expect to compost items including fruits & vegetables, coffee grounds, bread, and compostable packaging, but not plastic, glass, oil, or metals. There will be signs to specify what can and can’t be composted at the site. The bins will be emptied once a week by a private company. We will share more details on our social media and website when the program goes live.
