Thanks, President Edelson, it’s been a great 4 years!

After four years in office, Mark Edelson is stepping down as President of the CCA. We’re happy to share he will remain an active board member and knowledgeable resource for our neighborhood.

Here’s a look back at Mark’s time as President. From moderating a mayoral debate and co-founding the Canton Anti-Racism Alliance to manning the booth at WTMD First Fridays and pouring drinks at Light Night Canton, Mark led the way through both difficult and fun tasks as needed. He was friendly, fair, inclusive, impactful, and never afraid of a challenge.

In parting, Mark says, “I am so proud of all the work we have done together, for each other, and for our future.”

We thank him for his leadership, friendship, and, as we like to say at the CCA, #GettingNeighborly!

“Mark is a committed advocate with great leadership skills, who served the Canton Community Association well in his time as president. Personally, I will always be grateful for his encouragement and willingness to help myself and other board members and volunteers of the CCA. Although we will miss his leadership, we're very lucky that Mark is still a part of our organization and our neighborhood." –  Zach Spedden, CCA Marketing Co-Chair

“I truly loved working with Mark.  His intelligence, work ethic, sense of humor, and caring nature made for an awesome teammate.  We really didn’t know each other well when we became President/Vice President but soon after I had all the confidence that we would work well together and probably become friends.  From day 1, Mark treated me as an equal and as someone he could trust.  He was supportive in ways that encouraged me to become a better leader while providing examples on how to do so.  And man is he good at public speaking.  Hard to live up to but I’m a better community leader and neighbor for having worked alongside him in the executive capacity and look forward to what we can continue to accomplish as a board.  I also got a really cool new friend out of the deal.” –  Amanda Bourgeois, CCA Vice President

“Mark never makes it about himself. His focus is always on helping others and what we as a team can do for our community. He is a great listener and that’s key to being a successful leader. I love collaborating with Mark and continue to learn from him as he leads by example. I’m so glad he’s staying on the board." – Julie M. Kichline, CCA Marketing Co-Chair, Canton Anti-Racism Alliance
