Volunteer with the CCA – Get Involved, Make Friends, Have Fun!
/Volunteering with the CCA is a great way to meet new people, give back, and make a real impact in your neighborhood. We rely on community members like you to help keep Canton thriving and fun! Whether you have a few hours to spare or are looking for a bigger commitment, the CCA has a variety of opportunities available.
Current Volunteer Opportunities
Web & Tech Support Volunteer
Update and maintain the website with events, news, and resources.
Create and manage online forms for event sign-ups and memberships.
Maintain email and contact lists for communications.
Manage membership renewals, cancellations, and related tasks, etc.
Troubleshoot website or email issues.
Assist with data entry and record-keeping.
Volunteer Coordinator:
Manage and update the volunteer database.
Send recruitment emails for events and initiatives.
Assign volunteers to tasks during events (cleanups, fundraisers, etc.).
Check in with volunteers and keep them engaged with the organization.
Organize appreciation efforts (thank-you emails, small recognition events).
Treasurer Support:
Assist with bookkeeping and financial reporting.
Send receipts for tax purposes to donors.
Help process membership dues and donations.
Track event budgets and expenses.
Work with the Treasurer to ensure smooth financial operations.
Develop a transition plan for future Treasurer leadership.
Parks Committee:
Work with the Parks Committee Chair to plan park cleanups.
Identify park maintenance needs and coordinate with the City as needed.
Organize and store tools properly.
Connect with local businesses for sponsorships/donations.
Advocate for improvements to public green spaces.
Merch Manager
Coordinate with Canton Ace Hardware to keep CCA merchandise in stock.
Research and source new merchandise orders.
Membership Committee
Welcome new residents and encourage them to join CCA.
Maintain and update the membership database.
Plan networking or meet-and-greet events for new and existing members.
Develop incentives for membership growth (discounts, member perks, etc.).
Engage with residents to increase participation in community activities.
Business Outreach Coordinator
Build relationships with local businesses to encourage CCA sponsorship and membership.
Create partnership opportunities between businesses and CCA events.
Develop promotional opportunities for member businesses (e.g., business spotlights, networking events).
Connect businesses with volunteer opportunities to support the community.
Work with the Membership Committee to align outreach efforts.
Block Captain Program Assistance
Send emails to the Block Captains to share community news and events.
Maintain Block Captain database.
Engage with Block Captains on a regular basis to determine where the CCA can support neighbors.
Public Safety Committee
Manage committee members’ information and communications.
Organize committee meetings on a regular basis and take meeting minutes.
Assist in organizing regularly scheduled Citizen On Patrol (COP) Walks.
Communicate with SE BPD to inform them of CCA community meetings and identify who from BPD will attend.
Attend BPD community meetings and report back to the committee.
Identify public safety initiatives to implement in the community as needed.
CCA Grants
Identify city and state grants to support community efforts.
Manage grant applications and awarded grants with support from the board and relevant committees.
Work with the Treasurer to manage grant budgets and track expenditures/payments.
