BPD Birdland Hero Officer Paul Rivera

Officer Raul Rivera recently received the Birdland Community Heroes award for his work with the Baltimore Police Explorers, Patterson High School students, and the Hispanic community in Southeast Baltimore.

Officer Rivera mentors local youth and brings young people from different ethnic backgrounds together to train at the Southeastern Police District. As a Neighborhood Collaboration Officer (NCO) for the Southeastern District, he works with the community to help them see the Department as a resource and help prevent violence. 

In recognition of this honor, the Orioles Charitable Foundation will make a $2,500 donation to Tunnel to Towers Foundation and $2,500 to the Police Explorer program through its financial partner, Buddies Inc. of Baltimore.
