2020 Volunteers of the Year
/Every so often someone does something so amazing, so epic, so monumental that it needs to be recognized by the Canton Community Association, neighbors, and friends. So put your hands together for the 2020 CCA Volunteers of the Year Brad Rees, Cathy Rees, and Tray Smith! This is the moment when they finally get the credit for their hard work, great attitudes, and being totally awesome to our community!
What makes them so great? Well, Brad and Cathy are Torbin’s go-to duo when it comes to the upkeep of O’Donnell Square Park. Weeding, raking, planting… and just last week we saw Brad mowing the grass! And along with cleanups, Cathy teaches donation-based yoga at Church on the Square. Oh, and did we mention they have a secret garage where they’re cool enough to let us keep all our stuff? Yeah, that deserves a big high five!
Then there’s Tray. If you haven’t met him, we’re sure you know his face cause he’s at every, and we mean every, CCA meeting and community event. Need someone to pass out hot chocolate when it’s 30° during the Lamppost Lighting Party? He’s there. Planting Trees with Canton Canopy? Just hand him a shovel. Hanging decorations in the park… yup, that, too! And he gets a super special shout out for helping to break down Light Night Canton and lugging all the heavy boxes to storage at midnight when Team LNC is too tired to move.
So, here’s to Brad, Cathy, and Tray!! Their dedication and community spirit are truly appreciated. As we like to say… Thanks for Getting Neighborly!
