Weekly Recycling Returns in March!

Baltimore City Department of Public Works announces WEEKLY RECYCLING returns to Baltimore City the first full week of March.

“We needed to do this in a way that’s sustainable, which meant aligning three things: the workforce, the fleet, and the routes.

There’s still some work to be done, and our team is pulling out all the stops between now and March to make sure our new trucks and recently hired crews are road-ready to serve Baltimore’s residents.” – DPW  For more details on recycling.

Researching the History of a House
Just because a house isn’t a famous landmark, doesn’t mean it doesn’t have a rich history. Researching a building or property can require knowledge of many of the same resources as genealogical research.  And it can be an exciting trip into the lives of those who lived or worked there. In this program, we will talk about where to find government records related to a building or property, how to research historical archives for information, and what to look for on-site for clues. Presented by Julie Saylor, Librarian in the Maryland Department, Enoch Pratt Free Library/State Library Resource Center. Saturday, March 30 at 11:00 am.

Friends of Canton Dog Park Update Photo of new signs

If you’ve been by the Canton Dog Park (3221 Toone St.) lately, you’ll see we have new signs! Now everyone can read the rules and follow them for both the dogs’ and visitors’ safety. Also, you’ll notice there is a temporary drain in place to alleviate the “lake” problem in the large dog side of the Canton Dog Park. Thank you to our volunteers for the installation. The CCA is in communication with BCRP, DOT, DPW, and Councilmember Cohen’s office to work on a permanent solution. Make sure to follow the Friends of Canton Dog Park Facebook page for more news and fun photos.
