Getting On Board with Deborah Manarin
/Meet the CCA’s newest Board Member, Deborah Manarin. Deborah is a realtor, former teacher, proud Mom, and a newlywed. As a neighbor, you can find her hanging with her husband Aaron at Ravens games, volunteering in our community, and singing karaoke at Walt’s Inn. We’re excited about the positive energy and experience she brings to the CCA and know you will be too. To learn more, read our full conversation with Deborah.
Hi Deborah. How long have you been a Canton resident and how did you end up here?
We moved here three years ago. We fell in love with this community after spending time here while we were dating.
When you’re not showing houses, what do you do for fun?
I love to do karaoke. My go-to song to perform is Killing Me Softly by the Fugees. I also enjoy volunteering, going hiking, jogging, and roller skating.
What do you like most about living in Canton and working with the CCA?
I absolutely love my neighbors! I have really great relationships with them. We look out for each other and always have each other's backs. I love the accessibility that we have here in our neighborhood to bars and shops. I enjoy working with the CCA because it’s important to me to know what is happening in my community and to give my input into how we can improve life for the residents here in Canton. It has been a lot of fun volunteering with the CCA. It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know CCA members. They are loving, easy to get along with, and such a delight to work with.
Being that you’re new to the Board do you have any specific goals yet?
I am a positive person who genuinely believes you get out of life what you are prepared to put in. I am a very giving person who enjoys working alongside other like-minded people who want to make a difference in the work they are doing. Being on the Board will enable me to learn more about different aspects of our community. The CCA has so many committees from education and membership to transportation and economic development. I hope to sit in on several different committee meetings and volunteer at events to expand my knowledge of the community, meet more neighbors, and learn how I can specifically engage more to help Canton.
