/State’s Attorney Candidate Forum
The CCA is hosting a State’s Attorney Candidate Forum on Wednesday, June 29 from 7:30-9:00 pm. Moderated by WBAL’s Deborah Weiner, it will be both in-person at HHA and virtual. SE Community Food Pantry Project
The Southeast Anchor Library on Conkling/Eastern Ave is looking to establish a community pantry for the SE District. This pantry would consist of donated nonperishable items, toiletries, etc. This would be the first community pantry out of an Enoch Pratt library. They are looking for support/volunteers from the community to help launch and maintain this pantry. If you are interested in participating in this project, please email info@cantoncommunity.org.
2910 on the Square Yard Sale
2910 on the Square gift store has closed. But everything remaining in the building must go so they are hosting a 2-day Yard Sale on Friday, June 10 from 11-3 and Saturday, June 11 from 11-4. Beautify Baltimore Brunch Club
BBBC kicks off its summer season on June 26. This group of volunteers meets every other Sunday morning at a pre-determined block to weed/clean up the area. After that, they gather at a neighborhood restaurant for brunch. What a great way to meet your neighbors and help the community! BCRP Park and Play Grant
The CCA is pleased to announce we were awarded a Park and Play grant from Baltimore City Recreation and Parks in support of a few updates in O’Donnell Square Park. You may have noticed the new storage bins and picnic tables. A portable wash/water station was also purchased to be used during events.
O’Donnell Square Park Clean Up – 2nd Saturdays
Join CCA Outreach Chair Torbin Green and the Stewards of O'Donnell Square Park every second Saturday of the month to clean and maintain the Park. Baltimore City Recreation and Parks will provide tools (gloves, rakes, trash bags, and shovels) and personnel support. Outdoor Pool Registration Now Open
This summer admission is free for Baltimore City outdoor pools, including Patterson Park Public Pool located at 148 S Linwood Ave inside the park. Guests are encouraged to register online or by phone to secure a pool reservation. If capacity is not reached, the pool staff will accept walk-up registration after a 15-minute grace period. Each pool session is 90 minutes with 30 minutes breaks in between for cleaning. Swim Club

After 23 years in Canton, 2910 on the Square gift shop closed its doors on May 31. Owner Stephanie Fleishman thanks everyone for their patronage and friendship over the years and she wants everyone to know that was not a result of the pandemic, but a decision to start a new journey. Bark Social
Bark Social is a membership-based social club for dogs where every day is a block party. Pup parents can eat and drink while their dogs enjoy playtime with their friends. Coming to The Collective at Canton
There is a lot underway via developer Mark Sapperstein along the Boston Steet corridor in nearby Brewers Hill between Eaton and Haven streets. Already open are Sprouts, Pure Rail Juice, Xfinity, Sola Salons, and Bark Social. Coming soon are Cava, Shake Shack (drive-thru), Celebree Daycare, and Graystart Apartments. There will also be a new 3-story office building which will house offices for 28 Walker and other businesses.

Community Outreach
The CCA is committed to fostering communication across our community and we need your help. To make sure we are reaching neighbors beyond social media we are looking for businesses, organizations, schools, churches, senior and rec centers, etc. to serve as points of distribution for information. If your business or organization has a place to post a flyer, distributes a newsletter, has an email list, etc. and you would like to help facilitate outreach to our neighbors, please email info@CantonCommunity.org.
CCA Committees
CCA committees include Arts, Economic Development, Education, Marketing, Public Safety, Transportation, Social, Membership, and Volunteer. The CCA also oversees the Friends of Canton Dog Park and Friends of O’Donnell Square, and partners with Canton Canopy. CCA Economic Development Committee (EDC) Update
Mama's on the Half Shell and Nacho Mama's have requested support for live entertainment
The EDC is working with neighbors on Linwood and Hudson for an MOU with Lee’s Pint & Shell for the next Shucking in the Street event on Saturday, July 30.
Block Captains
The CCA is looking for Block Captains to increase communication and help bring about more organization from the ground up. Block Captains also play an important role in the Get Lit Canton project.
