Free Composting Station Launch PopUp & Seed Swap
Join us on Saturday, March 19 from 10am-noon as we launch the new FREE Community Compost Station in Canton! Stop by the I Wonder Garden at the corner of Hudson and Baylis (inside the fence) to learn about the program. Be one of the first 50 attendees and receive a FREE kitchen caddy! And, as a bonus for local gardeners, there will be a seed swap as well. The CCA is excited to bring this free service to our community and to help #MakeTheEarthSmile! Seeking Shred It Day Sponsor

Fun for Kids at Canton Library
The Canton branch of the Enoch Pratt Free Library at 1030 S. Ellwood Avenue has lots of fun “Take & Make” kits and other kid-friendly programs on their calendar for March. Check out their new Interactive Movie Kits, StoryWalks, and more. For details https://bit.ly/3Hh22o6.
Music on the Square Concert Series
Music on the Square Concert Series continues March 11 with Kathy Fahey & Dan Van Allen w/ Caleb Stine. Join us for a night of crankies, stories shared on moving scrolls, with melodies and songs by one of Baltimore's most captivating songwriters.

Yoga on the Square
Yoga on the Square, which has been virtual during the pandemic, now invites you to join in-person (mask required) as well. Class is held from 7:00-8:00 pm Wednesday evenings at Church on the Square. Free Community Dumpster Day
The CCA is hosting a free community Dumpster Day on March 12. The dumpster will be located in the rear parking lot of the Broom Factory at 3500 Boston Street from approximately 9:00 am until full. (Start time may vary as it’s contingent upon DPW schedule.) Plan to go early as it usually fills fast.
Acceptable materials at the dump include household trash, furniture, other bulk items, appliances, scrap metal, cans, glass, plastics, paper, cardboard, and yard waste that is bagged appropriately. No toxic or hazardous waste.
Unacceptable materials include paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, acids, caustics, gasoline, mercury thermometers/thermostats, syringes, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, helium tanks, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and any other solid, liquid, or gaseous substance that is regulated as hazardous by State or federal law.
Friends of Canton Dog Park
Hey Dog Lovers, we have good news! We are reviving the Friends of Canton Dog Park Facebook group so we can bring you updates on the dog park as well as make it a source for fun and community. For anyone new to our community, the Canton Dog Park, located at 3221 Toone Street, provides an off-leash experience in a 2-sided park. One side is for smaller or older dogs and one for larger pups. Canton Anti-Racism Alliance
The Alliance hosts a virtual meeting on the 4th Tuesday of every month to discuss and affect change to help Canton become a more welcoming, diverse, and inclusive neighborhood. Currently, we are discussing the possibility of hosting a Juneteenth Event. If you are a person of color in our community, The Alliance would love your input on your vision for such an event. We invite all members of our community to join us for our monthly meetings. Block Captains
The CCA is looking for Block Captains to increase communication and help bring about more organization from the ground up. Block Captains also play an important role in the Get Lit Canton project and help create a safer more connected Canton. If you are interested in representing your block, please email info@cantoncommunity.org and put Block Captain in the subject line.
CCA Committees
CCA committees include Arts, Economic Development, Education, Marketing, Public Safety, Transportation, Social, Membership, and Volunteer. The CCA also oversees the Friends of Canton Dog Park and Friends O’Donnell Square, and partners with Canton Canopy and the I Wonder Garden. We are also looking to form a new Sustainability Committee.
