Come Party at the Park! Dypski Park Reopening Celebration October 13
/The Canton Community Association is excited to share that Dypski Park, at 1213 S. Ellwood Ave., reopened on Friday, September 16 after an extensive renovation.
Join us as Baltimore City Recreation and Parks, the Canton Community Association, and Councilmember Zeke Cohen host a community party on Thursday, October 13 from 5:30-7:00 pm to welcome neighbors to the newly renovated park! Enjoy games, music, and light refreshments, too. Bring your family, neighbors, and friends to come #GetNeighborly!
The new design features colorful play equipment, seating, shade shelters, a fountain, a bike path, protective rubber safety surfacing, and more! The CCA sends a big shoutout to Will Andersen, PLA, ASLA, the Design Planner II/ Landscape Architect from Baltimore City Recreation & Parks who was the driving force behind the project.
Oh, and as much as Canton loves our dogs, please leave your pets at home. No animals are permitted in the park. Thanks!
The CCA is very excited about the renovation at Dypski Park. Thank you to everyone who brought this project to life. Having an upgraded park that is modernized with newer, durable materials and equipment that also has amenities such as padded turf, shade structures, seating, a fountain, and a fenced-in area provides a safe recreation area that neighbors can enjoy for years to come. Public spaces like this provide a vital resource and help to shape a community. Dypski Park is yet another reason to enjoy Life in Canton.
– CCA President, Amanda Bourgeois
Baltimore City's parks are vital spaces in our city. They are the places where communities gather and play that allow families to stay in our city and grow. The reimagined Dypski Park is a jewel in our Canton neighborhood.– Councilmember Zeke Cohen
City parks are essential to improving the quality of life of residents by promoting both mentally and physically healthy lifestyles for all ages. They offer a respite from the fast-paced urban environment we live in and provide communities with a safe space to connect with each other and with nature.
BCRP is excited to re-open Dypski Park and once again welcome the community back to this space. Dypski Park was designed with the whole family in mind, providing features for children 2-12 years old, along with tables with built-in game boards, two shade structures, bike racks, a paved loop for those learning to ride a bike, 8 swings, including a saucer swing that parents can go on with their children, and a decorative fountain.
