Canton History Project Update

The CCA has formed a workgroup to study and analyze the history of Canton and Baltimore City in order to ensure that our history is accurately and appropriately represented both digitally and in the historical landmarks throughout Canton. The group will outline and then put into action a plan to affect positive and long-term change focusing on a more welcoming, inclusive, and diverse neighborhood.

The Canton History Project held its first meeting on Tuesday, August 25, during which the group created a number of immediate action items from revising the “History” section on the CCA website to putting forth a plan to address the statue of Captain O’Donnell.

The Canton History Project is made up of a thoughtful and diverse group of residents including historians, college professors, local community organizers, and elected officials. The group is still looking for additional volunteers and is open to anyone who is interested in participating in this work. To participate or to send feedback, please contact CCA President Mark Edelson at info@CantonCommunity.org.
