Spring into Action to Keep Canton Clean
/We all benefit from our awesome neighbors who volunteer their time and energy to keep our neighborhood clean. Be one of those neighbors! Here are two easy ways you can help in April.
O’Donnell Square Park Clean Ups – 2nd Saturdays
We all benefit from O’Donnell Square either directly or indirectly so it's important to ensure its maintenance and upkeep. Join the Stewards of O'Donnell Square Park, led by CCA Outreach Chair Torbin Green, as they team up with Baltimore City Recreation and Parks every second Saturday of the month to clean and maintain the Park. The next clean up is April 13 at 10:00 a.m. BCRP will provide tools (gloves, rakes, trash bags and shovels) and personnel support.
If you want to put all of the dates on your calendar, future clean ups are scheduled for May 11, June 8, July 13, August 10, September 14 and October 12 from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. For details, visit www.facebook.com/events/237560100518785/.
Canton Dumpster Day
The CCA has arranged for a dumpster to be placed at Canton Waterfront Park on Saturday, April 13th, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. or until full. The dumpster will be set by the boat ramp in the parking lot.
Acceptable materials at the dump include household trash, furniture, other bulk items, appliances, scrap metal, cans, glass, plastics, paper, cardboard, and yard waste that is bagged appropriately. No toxic or hazardous waste.
Unacceptable materials include paint, solvents, pesticides, pool chemicals, acids, caustics, gasoline, mercury thermometers/thermostats, syringes, fire extinguishers, propane tanks, helium tanks, batteries, fluorescent light bulbs, and any other solid, liquid, or gaseous substance that is regulated as hazardous by State or federal law.
