Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival

Saturday, October 26 (Rain Date: October 27)

Festival 3:30, Parade Line-up 6:30, Parade 7:00 p.m.

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival, coming to Patterson Park on Saturday, October 26, brings together the diverse communities of East Baltimore for a fiesta of fright and fun.

For 20 years, The Great Halloween Lantern Parade has been bringing families, neighbors, youth, and artists together to celebrate and illuminate Patterson Park and the Baltimore community. Founded as an initiative to encourage neighbors to revitalize and invest in the park, the event quickly expanded and became Baltimore's most spectacular artist-led community event.

This year, The Great Halloween Lantern Parade will bring 12,000 parade-makers and spectators to Patterson Park on Saturday, October 26th (rain date is on Sunday, October 27). Thousands of people of all ages will carry handmade lanterns and march together with stilt walkers, community bands, drum lines, dance teams, and performers. Artists and families will carry glowing floats to create a magical, light-filled procession through the park.

The glowing evening procession is preceded by an afternoon Lantern Festival with hayrides, lantern making, crafts, autumn fare, and free family fun.

  • 3:30pm Festival: Lantern workshops, kids costume contest, hayrides, crafts vendors, food trucks, beer garden, pumpkins, cider, and more!

  • 6:30pm Parade Line-up: Everyone is welcome to make a lantern and march in the Parade! Meet by the Patterson Park boat lake to join in.

  • 7pm Parade: Join in or watch along the parade route!

  • 8pm Finale & Dance Party: Meet back at the Pulaski Monument to see the floats up close and see a brand new finale!

Creative Alliance and Friends of Patterson Park produce the event in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks. For more information, contact the Creative Alliance www.creativealliance.org, email info@creativealliance.org or visit https://bit.ly/2ovlc6T.
