Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival

Saturday, October 27 (Rain Date: October 28)
Festival 3:30 p.m., Parade Line-up 6:30 p.m., Parade 7:00 p.m.

The Great Halloween Lantern Parade & Festival, coming to Patterson Park on Saturday, October 27, brings together the diverse communities of East Baltimore for a fiesta of fright and fun.

The day begins with a Halloween festival, featuring an adorable kids costume contest, lantern-making, hayrides, yoga, live music, an arts & crafts market, and more. Local food trucks and a beer garden provide a way for neighbors to grab a bite or a brew, spread a blanket for a picnic, and enjoy an afternoon of people-watching and family fun.

Once the sun sets, the magic begins. Festival-goers raise their lanterns and march with hundreds of neighbors, artists, musicians, and performers. Others line the parade route, which begins at the Boat Lake in Patterson Park, heads east to the annex of the Park, and ends back at the Pulaski Monument, to watch in delight.

Creative costumes like giant lighted jellyfish, whimsical stilt-walkers and skeletons draw oooohs and ahhhhs as they float and wind through the dark of the park. This year’s theme, EEK!! – a throwback to classic Halloween, is sure to bring forth further ingenuity and imagination from parade participants!

After the parade, enjoy a specially commissioned FINALE and dance party with Mark Evans and Soul Centered, then head over to Creative Alliance, 3134 Eastern Avenue, for the Glow Ball After-Party featuring Dos Santos.

Creative Alliance and Friends of Patterson Park produce the event in partnership with the Baltimore City Department of Recreation & Parks. For more information, visit the Creative Alliance at creativealliance.org or email info@creativealliance.org.
