It's a Way of Life.

You may be wondering, “Why in the world would the CCA need to rebrand? What even is it? Didn’t they have a logo already? Do they even need a brand? And just how much did that cost???”

Well, we have some very good answers for you.

About 18 months ago, we realized that although we’re one of the largest neighborhoods in Baltimore with one of the largest and most active neighborhood associations, we sure didn’t look like it. And people didn’t know it. Ask five neighbors what the CCA does, and you’ll likely get a lot of different answers—some accurate, some not—or no real answers at all.

For years, the Canton Community Association has worked tirelessly to advocate for and enrich the lives of residents in this rejuvenated Baltimore neighborhood. But we were no longer connecting with our people.

That needed to change.

So we turned to Design B&B, a design and branding agency based in Baltimore and Chicago, to lead the branding project, which was completed pro bono. We focused on what makes this “Smalltimore” neighborhood so unique, in order to rebuild that connection with our residents from the ground up.

Which, as it turns out, is exactly what Canton is all about.

When you get to the heart of our neighborhood, what makes it tick, it’s the people living here who are continually reimagining what life in the neighborhood looks like. For over two centuries, Canton residents have molded the community to suit their needs and the needs of the time. Canton truly is a way of life.

The CCA’s new brand reflects that rough-around-the-edges, yet wholly modern spirit. It captures the vibrancy of Canton’s hard-working residents with compelling imagery and a bright color palette contrasted by steely blue—a nod to the area’s industrial past.

From old buildings transformed into new spaces, to innovative restaurants, to modern initiatives like the Canton Canopy project, this neighborhood is what we make of it.

And we believe the new brand will forge a new connection between the CCA and our residents, who love their neighborhood.

It’s about so much more than just a facelift. We have a new mission to carry us far into the century. We are committed to living and breathing our new brand and connecting with the neighborhood like never before.

Canton is a dynamic, diverse, and desirable place to be, and we’re going to make sure that everyone knows how amazing life is here.

We hope you’ll join us.
