The Canton Anti-Racism Alliance is pleased to host a virtual evening of conversation with Dr. Stanley Andrisse and Councilmember Zeke Cohen on Wednesday, January 19 at 6:00 pm.
In his new book "From Prison Cells to PhD: It is Never Too Late to Do Good", Dr. Andrisse tells the story of his journey from incarcerated person to PhD student, endocrinologist, diabetes researcher at Johns Hopkins University, nonprofit director, and advocate. His book illustrates the obstacles imposed by the criminal justice system on rehabilitation, receiving second chances, and realizing one’s potential. In hosting this event, The Alliance hopes to inspire attendees to advocate for the dismantling of structural barriers imposed on incarcerated people and support ongoing anti-racist work in our community.
This event is free. However, we ask that you please consider contributing to the honorarium for Dr. Andrisse.
