The park as it looks after the 6th Annual James W. Rouse Day, which was held on Saturday, September
16th, 2006.  Note the columns (on both ends of the park) are in place, along with the benches, trash can,
trees, and plants.  (Not visible are the electric conduits that will allow us to light up the entrances
to the park).  The ground has been reseeded so we should be in good shape next spring!

Holes have been dug for the columns that will mark both entrances to the park (note
the wood covering in the foreground).  Also, in the distance, towards the S. Potomac
side of the park, workers are beginning to lay the brick columns that mark that
side of the park.  In the photo on the left, the column hasn'tb een started yet, but in
the photo on the right, its done.  Note also in the photo on the right that the bench foundations
are in place.

Additional debris and rubble has been removed, but the
most important new development is...the winding footpath
is in place!

The space has been cleared of trash and debris and the
hardscaping will begin shortly.  The winding path in the
middle of the park will be a footpath that will connect S.
Curley Street on the west and S. Potomac Street on the
east.  The photo is taken from S. Curley Street, looking east
towards S. Potomac.

Prior to work beginning, the space known as Two Rivers Park was a mess...
